Raising Capable, Curious Kids Without Burning Out Moms

Helping toddlers build a lifelong love of learning while breaking the cycle of burnout for moms

You didn't sign up

for parenting to feel overwhelmed.

You became a mom because you wanted the connection, joy, and deep satisfaction of watching your child grow…

Not because you wanted to juggle constant interruptions, feel guilty about screen time, or never finish your coffee bevore it gets cold.

But if you’re here, it might feel like independent play is something you can’t quite unlock… like most days are a blur of short play stretches, screen reliance, and mom-brain exhaustion.

That’s 100% real… and you’re not alone.

And that’s exactly why EduPlay and the Independent Play course exist.

Independent play is a skill… and it can be taught.

Why EduPlay Was Created

Hi, I’m Kari!

Mom, former 5th-grade teacher, and founder of EduPlay.

For over ten years, I taught upper elementary students and saw firsthand what happens when children grow up with heavy screen time use and not enough hands-on, imaginative play in their early years.

I saw kids struggling to focus, doubting themselves, and lacking the curiosity and imagination that make learning exciting.

Then I became a mom.

So I started asking questions, reading deeply, and testing ideas in my own home. What I discovered changed everything:

Independent play is a skill… and it can be taught.

  • Not through screens.
  • Not through Pinterest-perfect activities.
  • Not by doing more.

But through simple, screen-free routines that support your child’s natural curiosity and help them stay engaged (without you having to hover or feel overwhelmed).

That’s the heart of EduPlay.

Helping kids grow in independence, creativity, focus, and confidence — and giving moms the breathing room they

My Approach

EduPlay isn’t about teaching kids to “be quiet.”

It’s about teaching them how to think, focus, explore, and create on their own.

We do this through:

Teach kids to play independently… and enjoy calmer days where you can take a breather.

Supporting

Healthy Child Development

Child development research shows:

Play isn’t a distraction — it’s development.

It builds imagination, problem-solving, perseverance, and self-regulation.

Independent play is a learned skill, not an accident.

With the right guidance, kids can build real endurance in play.

Teach kids to play independently… and enjoy calmer days where you can take a breather.

Helping to Break the Cycle of Mom Burnout

I believe:

Parents need support, not more pressure.

Calm, sustainable routines beat perfection every time.

Screens should be a choice, not the default.

Less screen time is possible when it’s replaced with independent play. It means less screen guilt — and more growth for your toddler.

Your well-being matters.

When moms have breathing room, the whole family thrives.

What Parents Are Saying

This course changed our whole house. My wife is more relaxed, the kids are getting along better, and when I come home everyone seems calmer and less overstimulated. It feels like we finally have breathing room.

Our home is less chaotic and we have a better flow to our days now. My kids are becoming more independent, solving problems on their own, and I get time to get things done around the house.

I know I’m not a bad mom, but sometimes I need a reminder that I don’t need to entertain my kid all day long to be considered a good one. This course gave me permission to take a break and not feel guilty about it.
